Terms of Service.

1. What WattByte is

WattByte is a mobile application that reads battery and network counters provided by your phone's operating system and presents them as usage statistics, estimated energy and estimated electricity cost. Optional features (an account, cloud sync of daily totals and AI explanations) are provided through its backend by ATLASHC Paweł Dolatowski, Sadowa 9, 64-514 Pamiątkowo, Poland (NIP 7871113283, REGON 302382396), referred to below as "we".

2. Estimates, not measurements

Phones do not expose a power meter to apps. Energy in Wh and kWh, wall energy and electricity cost are calculated or estimated from the counters your device reports, the design capacity of your phone model, a charging efficiency and an electricity price that is either a public national average or a value you enter. These figures are for information only. They are not a bill, not a measurement of your electricity consumption and must not be relied on for billing, regulatory or safety decisions.

3. Your account

• You need an account only for cloud sync and AI explanations. The core app works without one.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials private. Tell us if you believe someone else has used your account.
• You can delete the account at any time from the app. Deletion is immediate and removes everything attached to the account.
• We may suspend an account that abuses the service, for example by sending automated requests or attempting to access other users' data.

4. AI explanations

AI explanations are generated by third-party language models from the totals your phone computed. They can be wrong, incomplete or oddly phrased. They are not advice. Each account has a daily allowance of generations; the allowance of the free plan and of any paid plan is shown in the app.

5. Plans and payment

WattByte is free to use. A paid plan, WattByte Pro, is in preparation; its contents and price are published on the pricing page and in the app stores before it can be bought. Purchases, renewals and refunds of a paid plan are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not reverse engineer the backend, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or send it requests from anything other than the WattByte app.
• Do not use the service to collect data about a device you do not own or control.
• Do not resell access to the service.

7. Availability

The app on your phone keeps working without the backend. Account features depend on the backend and on third-party providers (hosting, electricity price data, AI providers) and may be unavailable from time to time. We do not promise a particular level of availability for the free plan.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design and its content are owned by ATLASHC Paweł Dolatowski or its licensors. Your data is yours; you give us only the permission needed to store and process it for the features you use, as described in the privacy policy.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ATLASHC Paweł Dolatowski is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of estimates shown in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes and termination

We may change these terms; the date at the top changes with them and material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. You may stop using the service at any time by deleting the account and uninstalling the app.
